Teen Pregnancy Prevention
Senate Bill 1157
Arizona teen
pregnancy rates are the third highest in the nation,
over 118 per 1000 teens get pregnant every year in Arizona (AGI, 1999).
Teen pregnancy poses a huge financial burden to society, it is
estimated to cost annually (Planned
Parenthood).
The Senate Bill 1157 is a well planned bill
designed to reduce teen pregnancy. We support this bill because the authors have included
essential aspects of sexual activity and the sexual health of teens, including abstinence.
